EMBCIS site

The Eastern Mindanao Corridor Biodiversity Information System (EMCBIS) is an on-line system about the flora and fauna species found in Eastern Mindanao, Philippines. The system, which is part of the Philippine Eagle Foundation's Eastern Mindanao Corridor Biodiversity Archiving and Assessment Project (EMCBAAP), was designed and developed to provide the users with fast access of species information and their geographic locations. The system was also designed with the aim to be the central repository of biodiversity information in Eastern Mindanao. The fauna and flora species stored in the system were obtained from nine identified key biodiversity areas (KBAs) which cover the Islands of Siargao and Dinagat in Surigao del Norte, the mountains of Hilong-hiong and Diwata in Region XIII, the mountains of Kampalili, Tagub, and Mayo in Compostela Valley and Mt. Hamiguitan in Davao Oriental. Current data suggests that the Eastern Mindanao Corridor is indeed rich in flora and fauna species.
